Beginning today, February 2nd, our blog is going to work a little differently than it has the past three months. From now on, on Tuesdays throughout the month I will share informative and educating material based on a common topic and on Thursdays I will share random and fun tips, tricks, and tidbits about anything and everything baby!
So let’s start off February on a light and cheery note, shall we? Here is a fun fact to wrap your head around if you are thinking about having children, just welcomed a new baby, or have been chasing kids around for years… The average child will receive 7,300 diaper changes by the time they are two years old!
Let’s break down this information because I’m sure you have many numbers and dollar signs dancing through your head right now…
With the cost of diapers averaging $0.22 per diaper, those 7,300 diaper changes are going to cost you about $1,606 over the course of two years.
But wait… We forgot to include wipes! Let’s try this again…
With the cost of diapers averaging $0.22 per diaper and the cost of wipes averaging $0.03 per wipe, and let’s say you average 3 wipes per diaper change (Come on people, you know you use at least 6 for those blow outs that shoot up the back and down to the toes! Ick!), those 7,300 diaper changes are going to cost you about $2,257 over the course of two years.
And diapers are just the beginning…
